Trying to defend against water-borne attacks , such as swarming boats, where rounds have to penetrate a water barrier, such as a wave, to hit the target is, therefore, futile. Conventional rounds in route to a target, instead of entering the water, may ricochet off the waters surface and lose velocity, proving futile against a swarm attack.Swarming surface boat hard-kill is one of the applications of supercavitating rounds.
