Most of the results are derived from FCM and ELISA experiments, but also some gene expression microarrays and HLA typing.Now that the projects are coming to completion we are expecting to see a significant increase in data submission traffic over the next 5 months.**These research studies are very complex, making submission somewhat challenging.Dont go it alone!!We are here to help. Each project has been assigned a team of BISC liaisons who can help with reformatting and mapping local data structures into the ImmPort schema.Local data managers should have heard from them.Also, do not hesitate to contact me personally if you have any questions or problems.**Data about mechanistic assays include the metadata and primary results from the platforms listed.Clinical data includes the study design timelines and clinical phenotypes from CRFs.No protected health information supported.**Experiment sample is the key lynchpin between the experiment metadata and the results.**Our experience working with Rho as the local data managers for the ADVN network.Rho was responsible for submitting the clinical study design description and schematic.Rho provided CRFs and example data files to BISC team who developed mapping files between the local data management approach and the ImmPort schema.Rho generated loading files based on this mapping and BISC team loaded data into ImmPort database.Results of the loading process were then validated by both groups and corrected if necessary.Experiment data loaded directly by the lab researchers.BISC team is also willing to also take the lead on other tasks, e.g. generating the load files from all of the provided data files.However, this will require an active dialog with the local data management team to provide missing information, documentation and to answer any questions for clarification.The local team must also look at the loaded data in ImmPort and validate.The bottom line is that we are willing to assist in the process in whatever way might be helpful for the individual research projects.Key project personnel and overall project abstract**Study-experiment schematic**Study timeline with sequence of events very useful to convey temporal relationships **Type of experiment and number of samples expected to be analyzed**One of the other major goals of the BISC project is to develop and support novel methods for the analysis of immunology research data.Previous years we described the FLOCK algorithm for FCM analysis.We have been continually working to refine the algorithm and make it easier for investigators to use.Ill direct you to a poster in which we describe the use of FLOCK to identify B cell subsets in normal peripheral blood and to track cell populations responding the vaccination.Also report the results of the first FlowCAP competition in which the performance of FLOCK and other recently developed algorithms were compared against manual gating on a common set of FCM data.***I want to thank the dedicated BISC team at UT Southwestern and Northrop Grumman for all of their hard work developing the ImmPort system.Id also like to acknowledge the help we have received for several people from Rho, ITN and Inaki Sanz group at U.
