    Trial Comments

    The objective of this trial was to evaluate the effects of the addition of Cleanwave and MCPA to Olympus, Olympus Flex, Osprey and Pyroxsulam for weed control in winter wheat. None of the treatments caused any visual crop injury. Downy brome control ranged from 79-91% on the 5/8/07 rating. All of the treatments with the exception of Olympus by itself controlled tarweed 63-93%. The addition of MCPA to the treatments generally increased control of tarweed 10-15%. The addition of Cleanwave and MCPA did not affect downy brome control. Plots were harvested 7/20/07 with a 'Hege' small plot combine.The harvested grain was further cleaned with an 'Almaco' air cleaner. The grain was thenweighed, test weight determined and yield calculated as bu/A using a standard 60 lb/bu testweight. There were no significant differences in test weights between any of the treatments.The untreated control plots had the lowest yield at 56 bu/A, followed by Olympus by itselfat 78 bu/A. The other treatments averaged 88-96 bu/A.
