Personality Development (Youth)What is real Personality?The sign of life is struggle for growth.Shaping the growth through proper training & systemic discipline is the only way to make life beautiful; which ultimately leads to fully fledged personality.Achievement in life certainly makes a person great, but does not add much to his or her personality.The need of the hour is to develop personality based on character & not on achievements in life.Real personality which is based on character, is remembered by the world through eternity. There names remain imprinted in the hearts of millions of people forever. Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi etc.Difference between change & development.Four Dimensions of the Human Personality1.Physical 2. Mental 3. Intellectual 4. spiritualA harmonious growth af all these aspects constitutes the real personality. One must strive for sound health strong mind, pure intellect & spiritual growth simultaneously.Physical DimensionBalanced died, proper water intake, Asan, regular exercises, Pranayam (Breathing exercises) proper rest cultivating, good habits & self control.Uncontrolled physical energy may cause, communal riots, antisocial actions, violence, robbery, harassment etc. Habits, good helps in developing physical health.Bed, drinking, smoking, drug addiction making a person weak. (succeptable to chronic diseases)Conservation of sensual & mental energy by observing Brahmacharya (Continence) resulting in to increase in vigour, strength & good memory.Mental Dimension1. It is the mind that makes the body.2. Mind is the repository of thoughts.3. Negative & evil thoughts make the mind weak.Weak Mind1. Gets irritated & loses temper over trifling matters. 2. Easily succumb to temptations like stealing, bribery etc.3. Due to confusion, suspicion & prejudice fails to take right decision. 4. Such mind compromise & surrenders to evil forces.5. It can not face challenge in life.6. It never appreciates good qualities in others.7. Restlessness, fear, Tension, Laziness, frustration, superstitions & negative thinking are the main character of a weak mind. Strong Mind1. Remains calm even in adversities 2. It never succumbs to temptation & develops tremendous courage to say No in immoral thoughts & action.3. Free from prejudice, suspicion & jealousy.4. Take right judgment at right time5. It never indulge in wrong actions, prompted by evil emotions as desire, anger, greed, fear, hatred etc.6. Spiritual DimentionIn this mortal body, there is something immortal, eternal & of the nature of pure consciousness, bless, peace & source of tremendous power, energy & knowledge.From it, Spring devine qualities, love, compassion, service, purity, truthfulness, fearlessness etc.This is our devine nature This is superior to all.Through the devine dwells within our hearts Lord Krishna in Bhagwat Gita (5-15) said- Knowledge remains covered by ignorance There by the creatures become deluded.The moment we remove this screen of ignorance, the knowledge of soul (Inner self) will shine forth and than will manifest all the great virtues in our personality.Param Pujya Gurudev Pt.
