Click the Add Account button to start receiving NMT mails.About spam and other filteringThis retrieval only pulls mails that are delivered to your NMT INBOX. By default, the TCC filters yourspam into a username.spam folder, which stays on NMT servers. If you wish to remove this filter thenremove the .procmailrc file from your user account. At this point you will have to configure Gmailto deal with your spam and other filtering.3. Sending from Google Mail with your @nmt.edu addressThis will give you the option of sending emails from Gmail with your @nmt.edu email address. Thiswill also originate your email from the NMT server.Procedure 2. Sending mail with an @nmt.edu address1. Log into your Gmail account.2. Click on Settings.3. Click on the Accounts and Import tab.4. In the Send Mail As section, click Send mail from another address.5. Enter your @nmt.edu email address.6. Select Send through nmt.edu SMTP servers.NoteIf you select Send through Gmail, some recipients' mail services may tag your mail as spam, because itdid not originate from NMT servers.7. The SMTP server is mailhost.nmt.edu on port 587. Also, enter your TCC username and password.CautionDo not select Always use a secure connection (SSL) when sending mail. This will try to use the deprecatedSMTPS connection which our servers do not support. Gmail will use TLS ( Transport Layer Security4)to protect your password with a normal connection over port 587.8. Gmail will send a confirmation email. Click the link provided in the email to verify.9. Compose Mail will now display an option to select from which address you would like to send.4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TLSNew Mexico Tech Computer CenterUsing Google Gmail as an MUA2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TLShttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TLS
