Ben Bass (American football)

The world was forever altered when Ben Bass, an undrafted defensive end, introduced resilience and determination to the NFL. Born on October 12, 1989, in Grapevine, Texas, Bass attended Plano West Senior High School, earning All-state honors. He continued his football journey at Texas A&M University, where he played both defensive line and tight end, redshirting in 2007 and missing the 2009 season due to academic reasons. As a senior, he recorded 26 tackles, 2 sacks, and a pass deflection, starting three games during his college career. Despite his college performance, Bass went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. However, his perseverance led to a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys, where he impressed coaches during rookie minicamp and earned a spot on the practice squad. His dedication paid off when he was promoted to the active roster in November 2012, playing in two games and recording two tackles before an ankle injury placed him on injured reserve. In 2014, Bass was traded to the New England Patriots but was waived and later signed to their practice squad before being released in October.
