Tomáš Hořava

What does it take to revolutionize football? For Tomáš Hořava, it began with an unwavering belief in resilience. Born on 29 May 1988 in Brno, Czechoslovakia, Hořava's journey from local youth clubs to the pinnacle of Czech football is a testament to perseverance and dedication. Starting his youth career at Drnovice and later joining Sigma Olomouc, he honed his skills and made his professional debut in 2006. Over seven seasons with Sigma Olomouc, he accumulated 132 appearances, scoring 10 goals. In 2013, he transferred to Viktoria Plzeň, where he became a cornerstone of their midfield for eight seasons, amassing 192 appearances and 31 goals. Internationally, Hořava represented the Czech Republic U21 team, participating in the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He earned 14 caps for the senior national team between 2012 and 2018, scoring 3 goals. Despite facing health challenges that led to his retirement in 2021, Hořava's passion for football persisted. In July 2025, he returned to the sport as an assistant manager for Sigma Olomouc B, mentoring the next generation of players.
